Function of water clarifier

What is a lamella in waste water treatment?

The lamella separator (also lamella clarifier) separates settleable solids (particles) from liquids and is used in the treatment of process waste water.
Basically all solids that sediment in a given time, can be separated faster, easily and economically more advantageous with the lamella separator.
This system allows a considerable reduction in size compared to a traditional silos.

BLUCOMB
Lamellar packs water clarifier

Lamellar water clarifier Blucomb in its variations: hot galvanized, Polystone™, and hot galvanized with additional external painting, is able to treat high quantity of water maintaining reduced dimensions, allowing the installation in laboratories with limited available space, especially in height.

Lamellar packs self-cleaning system (optional) guarantees a perfect depuration efficiency and, at the same time, it keeps the clarifier cleaner.

Blucomb

What is Blucomb water clarifier made of

  • 400° Hot dip Galvanizing (lasts from 40 to 121 years).
  • Polystone™ for those who use well water (electro conductive) or polish a lot (acid pH).
  • With Big Bag filter (for small quantity of sludge, say about 1 m³ per week).
  • With Automatic Filter-Press (from about 1 m³ every 2 days and up of sludge produced).

What is lamella water clarifier for

  • 100% Water bills saving
  • Recycling and Clarifying of waste water from manufacturing processes
  • Separate instantly mud from water

AIR JET SYSTEM – BLUCOMB

SYSTEM ITALMECC AIR-JET CLEANING FOR LAMELLA PACKS

Let the Air Clean, so you can keep working without wasting time.
  • Save up to 6 hours for extraordinary cleaning time program and reduce wasted time;
  • Easily program the cleaning cycle time that suits you best;
  • Safeguard the lamellar packs by reducing the risk of obstruction.

Clean maintenance becomes easy thanks to the use of air only

Jets of compressed air are used to release the air particles into the water which will detach the sludge still attached to the lamellar surfaces.

The airborne air particles can then be introduced into the system through a self-purging distribution system that creates special turbulence designed to break up the sticky effect typical of synthetic materials and more.

FAQ

How does a lamella in waste water treatment works?

Typical lamella water clarifier design consists of a series of inclined pack plates located inside a silo water clarifier (see figure above).
The untreated waste water coming from manufacturing processes enters from the top of the silo and flows down a feed channel underneath the inclined plates (or lamella).
Water then flows up inside the clarifier between the inclined plates (or lamella).
The solids contained into the water fall to the plate (lamella) surface, where they slide by gravity down to the conic sludge collection hopper.

What is lamella technology?

The Lamella Clarifier consists of a series of closely spaced plates inclined at an 60° angle.
Multiple tubular channels sloped at an angle of 60° and adjacent to each other, which combine to form an increased effective settling area. This provides for a particle settling depth that is significantly less than the settling depth of a conventional silo clarifier (taller), reducing settling times.
Preconditioned water with entrained solids enters the plate pack and flows between the plates. The path length, plate spacing, and angle of the plate are all studied to best perform with stone, quartz, granite, concrete, glass waste water and advanced materials.

What is lamella pack?

Lamella packs are modular structures efficiently employed in water clarification. They speed up settling and solid separation processes and allow space saving and cost-cutting. They increase flow-rate and performance.
